from this report is a copy of the annual accounts
for the year ended 31 March 2006. As at 31 March this year, the balance
of the General Fund was £2464.02 (£1744.17) and the balance
of the Glauert Fund was £3326.41 (£3000.00).
Comments on the General Fund:-
Comments on the Glauert Fund:- e) Donations and fundraising down
by £170 – we did not hold a Christmas Fair, as in the previous year.
General Comments:- As the bulk of the Glauert Fund is held in a Scottish Widows Tracker account, earning a reasonable rate of interest, the Committee holds the view that fundraising is not essential, as the interest should yield sufficient to support the annual prize. However, social events provide opportunities for renewing friendships etc. and the Committee will continue to organize such occasions, as suggested/supported by the members. Finally, I would like to record my thanks to our accountant, Chris Found, who has again examined the accounts in a very short timescale. Because of holidays etc. this turn-around may not always be possible. Either the AGM could be held later in the year or the year-end could be altered to a date earlier than 31st March. I intend to raise this matter in Any Other Business. This concludes my report and I will answer any questions. Joyce Perry
