| Firstly
may I welcome you to this year’s AGM, it is gratifying to see so many new
faces.
Sadly, I have to report the death of Jean Beatie (Rivis 1939 – 46). Jean was headgirl from 1945 – 46, she lived in Bugbrook, Northamptonshire and died in October 2005. We have also been informed of the death of former PE teacher, Miss Beryl Taylor in December 2005. Miss Taylor was not a member of the Old Girls’ Association but she will be remembered by many former pupils & staff. May I ask you to join me in a minute’s silence to show our respects. Thank you. Now to business:- My term in office has been made much easier by the help and assistance of the committee, particularly our secretary, Evelyn and our treasurer, Joyce. The primary purpose of this meeting is the appointment of committee and officers. Liz Heighway, Joyce Perry and Evelyn Peterson have all served on the committee for three years and are required to stand down. Fay Yeomans, Denise Willey and Anne Mann have also resigned. Nominations for replacements were invited in the February newsletter but none have been received. I do however understand that Evelyn, our secretary and Joyce our treasurer would be willing to stand for re-election providing the necessary proposals are made. By way of conclusion it remains only for me to thank you all for your attendance today. Eileen Noble |
