A.G.M. 16 APRIL 2005
Looking back over the past year we have been pretty successful in attracting media publicity for the Association and its events.
There have been articles in the Scarborough Evening News and other local and regional publications. The Yorkshire Ridings Magazine ran an article about the Association and its history. The Glauert Memorial Prize was also featured in a couple of newspaper pieces, including one about the presentation evening at the Sixth Form College.
Last year’s A.G.M. and Lunch was mentioned both before and afterwards and a more detailed piece with photographs appeared in the Yorkshire Life magazine. A letter was also published giving details of membership and so on.
BBC Radio York broadcast a short piece about the fundraising quiz; a feature about the brief revival of the "School Song", which also gave additional publicity to the Autumn Lunch, and, most recently, an interview with the Secretary and Miss Briggs about the Association and its history, a look ahead to the AGM and a chat with Miss Briggs about her proposed charity parachute jump!
Overall, we managed to achieve a fair amount of coverage in a variety
of local and regional media.
