Chairlady’s Report - A.G.M. Saturday April 16^th 2005

May I begin by adding my welcome to that already extended to you by Pam. I would like to express my thanks to the members of the Committee who have made my first year in office run so smoothly.

The proceeds from fund raising events were satisfactory although attendance figures at the Christmas Fayre were disappointing as was also the case with the Joint Dinner.

I have a special word of gratitude to our Secretary Evelyn who gives so much of her time in the running of our association. We are all extremely grateful to Maureen for setting up our web site also to Fay for our publicity and to Anne and her assistant Joyce for keeping our finances in order.

I wish to place on record a special thank you to Muriel - without her enthusiasm and dedication we would not be meeting today. I am very sorry that Muriel cannot be persuaded to stay on the committee but she has agreed to store the archive material for us. As a matter of interest since the revival of the association Muriel is the only committee member with a 100% attendance.

May I remind you that we do need three new committee members today.
